The Stamford Bridge woes of London

According to The Times, the main reason behind the Russian billionaire's decision was the difficulties he faced in obtaining a visa in the UK. Instead, he was forced to convert to Israeli citizenship earlier this week due to his Jewish ancestry.

And with the new passport, Abramovich will only be allowed to stay in England for a maximum of six months. The tycoon will not be permitted to hold any position at Chelsea, even though he is the legal owner of the club.

Immediately after the British announced this regulation, Abramovich officially postponed Chelsea's plans to build a new stadium indefinitely. "The Blues" also received permission from the London city council to renovate Stamford Bridge stadium starting in 2018, costing the London club £500 million.

The main architects responsible for this new project are Herzog and de Meuron, who previously designed China's Bird's Nest stadium and Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena. The project will begin in 2018 with the demolition of ancillary structures such as restaurants, hotels, and parking lots, and will be completed by the start of the 2021/22 season.

Accordingly, Chelsea will continue to play at their old stadium until the end of the 2017/18 season, before temporarily leaving Stamford Bridge for three years.

In addition, the pursuit of bringing Maurizio Sarri to Stamford Bridge has been put on hold, and Chelsea are urgently moving on to other options, with plans to announce their new manager next week.

According to sources from Spain, Chelsea will replace Antonio Conte with Luis Enrique and appoint the former Barcelona manager to the coaching bench in the coming days. Negotiations with Napoli to reach an agreement for Maurizio Sarri appear to have broken down.

Serie A club president Aurelio De Laurentiis remains adamant about not reducing the €8 million contract termination fee, meaning Chelsea will find it difficult to meet this demand.

This time, Abramovich doesn't want to throw money at buying a new manager as he prepares to sell Chelsea FC.

However, according to The Times, Abramovich's asking price for the club is only £1.17 billion. This is exactly the same amount Abramovich has invested in the London team.

Following the above report, Abramovich has yet to make a definitive statement on the matter. However, given his strong personality, if his visa extension application in the UK continues to face obstacles, it is highly likely that his relationship with The Blues will soon come to an end.
