These days, the people of Thanh Ha commune, Thanh Chuong district, are entering the harvest season for Tho Hao ginseng.

Since ancient times, Thổ Hào ginseng has been considered a precious medicinal herb, possessing cooling properties and beneficial effects in nourishing the body, combating weakness, replenishing yin, strengthening the lungs, and improving spleen and stomach function, clearing heat, and moistening the lungs. After harvesting, Thổ Hào ginseng is washed, sun-dried, and the stems, roots, and leaves are cut off. This type of ginseng can be processed into many products such as dried ginseng, ginseng powder, ginseng tea, ginseng cereal, sliced ginseng, ginseng wine, etc. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Ly - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Thổ Hào Ginseng Cooperative in Thanh Hà commune, said: This season, the cooperative planted 5 hectares of ginseng. Well-cared-for plots yield about 3 tons of tubers per hectare. Fresh ginseng, after harvesting, is purchased by individuals and businesses at prices ranging from 200,000 to 500,000 VND/kg, depending on the type.
