Farmers in Nghe An province stay up all night tending to their Tet flower gardens.

There are still more than two months until the Lunar New Year, but at this time, farmers in Nghe An are already working through the night tending to their flower gardens. Many fields glow brightly at night whenever the "flower streets" light up.

hoa dem 1 — Yen Thanh District is one of the localities where people invest heavily in growing flowers for Tet (Lunar New Year), with 5-7 hectares per year. During this time, as night falls, many flower fields in Yen Thanh District light up with thousands of installed lights, leaving passersby amazed. It is known that the flower field right next to the Dao River, near Block 4, Yen Thanh town, covers more than 2 hectares and is cultivated by three households: Phan Quoc Cuong, Phan Quang Tuan, and Phan Quoc Nam, who lease the land. hoa dem 5 — According to Mr. and Mrs. Phan Quang Tuan, residing in Block 4, Yen Thanh town, this year their family planted 10 sao (approximately 10,000 square meters) of various types of chrysanthemums. Of this, 1 sao will be sold during the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, 8 sao during the Tet holiday, and 1 sao during the Lunar New Year festival. Therefore, the planting schedule was carefully planned. Because they have to keep the lights on all night for more than two months straight, the electricity cost is between 3.5 and 4 million VND per month, not including the cost of replacing burnt-out bulbs. hoa dem 7 — According to Mr. Le Van Hong, Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Yen Thanh district, the entire district has about 20 hectares of Tet flowers, planted scattered across the communes, but the most concentrated area is the town center. In addition to the area of flowers grown outdoors, people also grow flowers in greenhouses and net houses.
Not only in Yen Thanh district, but also farmers in other localities such as Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc and Vinh City are investing in growing flowers for Tet.
