Farmers in Quy Hop invest in combine harvesters.

(Baonghean.vn) - Recognizing the needs of farmers in rice harvesting, many households in Quy Hop district have recently boldly joined forces to purchase combine harvesters worth over 100 million VND to serve their family production while also combining it with a service business.

Combine harvesters are harvesting the summer-autumn rice crop in Chau Quang commune.

Currently, in Quy Hop district, there are 3 combine harvesters in Chau Quang commune and 1 in Dong Hop commune. Thanks to these combine harvesters, the harvesting speed of this summer-autumn rice crop is very fast. On average, each machine can harvest about 5 to 6 sao (approximately 0.5 hectares) per hour, depending on the depth of the field. With one person operating the machine and two people assisting in bagging the rice, it is many times faster than traditional harvesting methods.

Each combine harvester only requires 3 people.

The cost for harvesting and threshing each plot of land is only 200,000 VND. This is half the cost of manual harvesting. Besides its economic value, it also helps speed up the harvesting process, ensuring that the planting schedule is met.

Large fields allow combine harvesters to operate at their full capacity.

However, for ease of operation and full machine capacity, large fields are necessary. Therefore, the consolidation of farmland and land reallocation in accordance with Directive 08 of the Provincial Party Committee on building new rural areas in Quy Hop district is currently being actively implemented. This will help to introduce mechanization into agricultural production in general and rice cultivation in particular in a more synchronized manner, contributing to increased productivity, efficiency, and freeing up labor for farmers.
