Ms. Quang Thi Hoai from Hoa Tien 1 village, Chau Tien commune (Quy Chau district) said that although she has quite a lot of rice fields,Covid-19 pandemicThis has affected the family's income. Therefore, instead of hiring people to plant the rice, she has to plant it herself or exchange labor with others in the village.
Around 4 PM, they begin planting rice in the fields. The work sometimes lasts until midnight under the dim moonlight. In addition to the headlamps, these women also carry rechargeable lamps for emergencies on the embankment.

It was almost 9 PM, but the group of women who helped each other plant rice seedlings hadn't gone home yet. The five women were still working diligently for another hour to finish their day's work. "During the hot day, we have to take advantage of planting at night to avoid the heat," Ms. Hoai shared.
At 21 years old, Sam Thi Lieu from Hoa Tien 1 village should have followed her friends to work in industrial zones. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, she chose to stay home and take care of her children. During the harvest season, especially the rice planting season, she earns extra income by planting rice for other households in the village.

Arriving at the Tong Xan rice field in Hoa Tien 2 village, Chau Tien commune, at nearly 10 PM, one could still see the flickering lights. On his plot of land, Mr. Vi Van Diep explained that his family is small, and his children work far away, so he has to hire people to plant rice. To ensure timely planting, he has to hire people to plant at night at a cost of 80,000 VND per plot (equivalent to 100 square meters).
