(Baonghean.vn) - In recent days, Nghe An has been experiencing a peak heat wave, with outdoor temperatures sometimes reaching 40-42 degrees Celsius. To avoid the scorching heat, farmers in Yen Thanh district have been using lamps to plow the land and plant rice at night, both to protect their health and to achieve high labor productivity.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet in Yen Thanh town shared: My family works on 3 sao of rice fields, during the day the heat is harsh, reaching over 40 degrees Celsius, so we take advantage of the night to plant rice. We go to the fields around 7 pm and come back to rest at 2-3 am. A representative of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Yen Thanh district said: Currently, the entire district has finished harvesting the spring rice crop, and communes are actively preparing the land and planting over 12,800 hectares of summer-autumn rice.
