In the early days of Spring, at the peach blossom village of Kim Thanh commune, farmers were actively planting and caring for peach trees. Mr. Chu Van Le in Dong Ban hamlet was grafting peach trees and said: After Tet, planting and caring for peach trees is very important, such as focusing on nurturing peach seedlings, grafting peach trees with peach trees, adjusting growth so that flowers bloom on time, and restoring trees for the next crop.

Currently, the family has focused on grafting over 200 peach trees with peach trees, these are mainly perennial peach trees, producing beautiful red flowers like Nhat Tan peach trees. In addition, large peach trees can be grafted to propagate and maintain quality peach lines. Not to mention some peach trees after Tet, Kim Thanh farmers can buy back and restore them to sell for the next Tet peach season. After planting, they proceed to trim branches, fertilize, strip leaves, stimulate and slow down the flowering time...

For 1-2 year old peach trees, in addition to proper care, peach growers must be meticulous in shaping the canopy, which needs to be done continuously every 5-7 days by combining bending, tying young branches together or creating frames according to predetermined shapes, pruning, and removing unwanted branches. It is also possible to combine the method of carving scales on the peach trunk to create an ancient look for the peach tree.

Mr. Chu Van Hien, who is growing peach trees, said: During Tet, his family sold over 250 peach trees. Currently, his family has planted seeds from peaches about a month before, and is now planting new peach trees. They will be ready for harvest in about 2-3 years.

To grow beautiful peach trees, it is necessary to plant them according to the correct process. Peach trees cannot withstand waterlogging, so it is necessary to choose high, well-drained land. The soil must be carefully prepared and loose. The beds must be 25-30 cm high and 70 cm wide, with a planting density of 1m x 1m. After planting, organic manure must be applied in combination with care and pest control. From the age of 1 year, pruning and shaping techniques must be carried out to make the peach trees more beautiful when sold.

Mr. Phan Tat Mau - Chairman of Kim Thanh Commune People's Committee said: Peach growing for Tet in Kim Thanh commune has become a traditional profession for many years, recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a Craft Village.Planting peach trees in Kim Thanh commune, according to Decision No. 3469/QD-UBND, dated November 8, 2022, is an advantage for the local peach growing profession to develop stably, creating conditions for people to develop the economy from peach trees.
