Hot: IS supreme leader al-Baghdadi still alive?

According to Iraqi intelligence sources, IS supreme leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is still alive and hiding in Syria.

Al Masdar News reported on July 17 that Al Arabiya TV channel quoted Abu Ali al-Basri - Director of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior's intelligence and counter-terrorism agency - on July 16 as confirming that IS supreme leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is still alive and hiding in Syria.

“Al-Basri has denied reports of al-Baghdadi's death, saying he is still hiding in Syria but not in his 'capital' Raqqa,” Al Arabiya reported.

Previously, on July 11, Al Sumaria TV channel quoted a well-informed source in Nineveh province as saying that IS militants had confirmed the death ofSupreme leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Iranian media also circulated photos showing al-Baghdadi dead.
