Meritorious Artist Cát Tường speaks out about rumors of having a child with Trung Dũng.
The female artist has finally clarified a rumor that has lasted for over 20 years, and also shared about the turning point of giving up her career for love and her views on choosing a life partner in her late 40s.
The truth about rumors of having a child together.
In the program Vietnam Interviews, Meritorious Artist Cat Tuong directly confronted actor Trung Dung to clarify rumors that have persisted for over two decades that they have a child together. Trung Dung stated that this information originated from their roles in the film "Stolen Happiness," particularly the scene where Cat Tuong plays a mother holding a newborn baby.

Cát Tường confirmed that many viewers still believe this rumor. She humorously shared: "Even now, when I go out, many people still tell me: 'Oh my God, how does Cát Tường maintain such a beautiful figure? She just gave birth to a baby!'" The actress also affirmed that although she has played Trung Dũng's mistress many times in films, she would not accept this role in real life.

A turning point in my career because of the call of love.
Cát Tường and Trung Dũng have been classmates since 1995. After winning third prize in the 1996 Television Singing Contest, Cát Tường's career began to flourish as a singer and actress, notably in the film "Blood Money".
However, while her career was on the rise, she decided to put it on hold to get married. "At that time, I felt like this profession wasn't for me. Then I followed the call of love and gave up the game... Young people do what they like, if they fall in love, they just get married," she confided. The marriage didn't last, and she returned to single life until now.

The female artist stated that if given the choice again, she would still pursue art because it was her destiny, but the decision to marry came from the impulsiveness of her 24th year, when love was more attractive than making a living.
Concepts of love change over time.
Cát Tường revealed that love has always been an important and accompanying part of her life. However, her criteria for choosing a life partner have changed significantly over time.
"When I was young, I was struggling to make a living... if I met a guy who invited me to a fancy restaurant or gave me a handbag, I'd develop feelings for him," she explained. At that time, she tended to choose older men with stable finances to ensure a secure life.

Now, at nearly 50 years old, with a stable career and finances, Cat Tuong no longer feels the need to find a wealthy man. Instead, she prioritizes those who bring her joy, youthfulness, and don't cause her suffering. "Now, I need someone young and beautiful for films to come my way. I will eliminate relationships that cause me pain, anguish, and endless crying," she affirmed.
Women in their 50s still 'lie' to their mothers to go on dates.
An interesting detail shared by Cat Tuong is her close yet traditional relationship with her parents. She revealed that even now, she still has to "lie" to her mother, saying she's filming late at night so she can go out with her boyfriend, to avoid worrying her family.

She admitted that this was somewhat different from her daughter, who is always open and shares everything. The artist explained that this might be due to the influence of traditional Central Vietnamese upbringing, which instilled in her a sense of awe and respect for her parents. For her, her parents are her strongest support system, and she always feels indebted to their boundless love.
