Fashion designer Do Manh Cuong hints that Ngoc Trinh uses counterfeit goods.
On social media, many people claimed that the Hermes bag Ngoc Trinh carried at the event on March 14th was a fake. The 9X model has denied this suspicion.
On the evening of March 14th, Ngoc Trinh attracted attention at an event in Ho Chi Minh City with what is believed to be a Himalayan Crocodile Birkin bag worth over 1.5 billion VND. Although dressed quite simply, the expensive designer bag made the "underwear queen" stand out at the event.
On the afternoon of March 15th, a status update appeared on Do Manh Cuong's personal page that was interpreted as an allusion to the Himalayan Crocodile Birkin bag that Ngoc Trinh and her colleagues own. Many people believe that the 8X designer was subtly criticizing the "underwear queen" for using a "fake" bag.
"Even God must be having a headache because Vietnam now has the most Himalayan Hermes bags. People struggle to buy even a regular Birkin bag, but in Vietnam, people buy Himalayan bags worth billions of dong just to go to Ben Thanh Market," he wrote.

However, Ngoc Trinh insisted she doesn't use counterfeit goods. She explained that she bought the Himalayan Crocodile Birkin bag during a trip to Hawaii. The "Queen of Lingerie" emphasized that to buy the $65,000 bag, she had to be a VIP customer of Hermes and spend over $50,000. She assured that she has been a Hermes customer for many years.
Responding to suspicions that Do Manh Cuong was implying Ngoc Trinh used a counterfeit bag, the model said she doesn't care what people say about her designer items. According to her, those who have never been VIP customers, or who only own one Hermes bag, wouldn't understand the brand's regulations.
Meanwhile, Do Manh Cuong stated that he did not intend to criticize anyone and was only speaking jokingly. "People keep asking me about this, and I find it very annoying. I will learn from this experience and be more careful when sharing opinions on my personal page," he said.

Businesswoman and former beauty queen Phuong Le, who also owns a Himalayan Crocodile Birkin bag, stated that her bag and Ngoc Trinh's are the same size. Phuong Le purchased hers from a store in New York and it took three months to order. She met Ngoc Trinh at an event with the same bag, so she's certain it's not a fake.
"As far as I know, Ngoc Trinh used this bag when shopping in France. If it were a fake, she would have been arrested. Or even if she got past the store inspection, the fake bag would be detected at French customs and she would be heavily fined. As everyone knows, it's very difficult for counterfeit goods to get through French customs," the runner-up said.
