A female patient who returned to Vietnam from Dubai with Covid-19 has a high fever and pneumonia.

According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases on May 11th, they recently received a Covid-19 patient transferred from a local hospital. The patient, Ms. NTKL (50 years old), suffered from pneumonia and respiratory failure, and was infected with Covid-19 after returning to the country from Dubai.

This is the 278th case of Covid-19 infection in Vietnam. The patient, a woman who returned from Dubai, had a severe condition and was recently transferred from Bac Lieu Provincial Hospital to the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases for treatment.

Prior to the transfer, the patient was treated at Bac Lieu Provincial General Hospital. However, due to a worsening of the condition, the Ministry of Health decided to transfer the patient to the Tropical Diseases Hospital for specialized care and treatment.

Currently, the patient is isolated and receiving treatment. Their pulse and blood pressure are stable, but they are experiencing a persistent cough, high fever of 39°C, pneumonia, and respiratory failure, requiring oxygen via nasal cannula. Tests of the patient's nasal and throat swabs at the hospital confirmed a positive result for SARS-CoV-2.
