A dynamic and enthusiastic female youth union official from Thailand.

I met Dieu Thuy one afternoon in mid-March, while she was practicing for a performance in preparation for the Youth Union's big event. Her petite figure, yet graceful and agile in every movement, exuded the dynamism and enthusiasm of this young female Youth Union official.

Taking a break from training to chat with us, Thuy shared that she was fortunate to be born and raised in a family with a tradition of academic excellence. Her father is a Youth Union official, and her mother is a primary school teacher. From a young age, she considered her father her "idol," loved his blue uniform, and therefore always actively participated in school activities and diligently studied all subjects, consistently achieving excellent grades.

Unfortunately, when I was in 8th grade, my father suddenly passed away. Everything seemed to fall apart for me. During that time, I became withdrawn and didn't want to participate in any activities anymore. But with the encouragement of my family, teachers, and friends, I regained my balance when I thought about my father's contributions while he was alive. I told myself that I had to take his place and fulfill his dream of contributing to the Youth Union.

After being admitted to Quy Chau High School, she proved herself by enthusiastically participating in school activities and was elected as the Youth Union Secretary by her classmates. Living up to that trust, throughout her three years of high school, Thuy, along with the class leadership team, led the class's activities to new heights.

Not only is Thuy a leader in Youth Union activities, but she also consistently ranks among the top students in her class in academics. She achieved the title of all-around excellent student in the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 school years, won third prize in Foreign Language in 2015-2016, second prize in Civic Education in 2016-2017, and honorable mentions in Literature and Foreign Language at the school-level excellent student competition. Thuy also received an honorable mention in the provincial-level excellent student competition in Civic Education in 2016-2017.

With outstanding academic achievements and contributions to the Youth Union movement, Thuy was awarded a certificate of commendation by the Quy Chau District Youth Union - Youth Union Committee for her excellent achievements in Youth Union work and youth movements on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Youth Union (October 15, 1956 – October 15, 2016). In October 2017, Thuy had the honor of being a delegate to the 17th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Nghe An province, and was elected as a delegate to the 11th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Hanoi in December 2017.

When asked about how she manages her time between studying and extracurricular activities, Dieu Thuy said: "I make the most of my time in class to thoroughly grasp the knowledge that the teachers impart. If there's anything I don't understand, I discuss it with my friends. When I have free time, I review the lessons to make sure I understand the material... In this way, I always maintain my academic achievements as a top student and still have time to participate in extracurricular activities."

Diệu Thùy said that her immediate goal is to pass the entrance exam to Vinh University, majoring in English pedagogy, as she really wants to become an English teacher.
