Female elected representatives in Nghe An: Courage, intelligence, and responsibility.
During their activities as members of the National Assembly and the Provincial People's Council in the 2021-2026 term, the female elected representatives of Nghe An province have affirmed their sense of responsibility, intellectual prowess, and dedication to the interests of their constituents and the development of the locality.

The group of female delegates to the National Assembly and the People's Council of Nghe An province was established according to Decision No. 116, dated December 2, 2021, of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, with the aim of connecting the intellect, experience, and dedication to improve the quality of elected activities of female delegates.
With 26 members, the group of female delegates has clearly demonstrated their sense of responsibility, courage, and intelligence through 18 sessions of the National Assembly and 36 sessions of the Provincial People's Council during the 2021-2026 term. Many female delegates not only accurately reflected issues from real life and promptly conveyed the "voice" of voters and the people, but also demonstrated sharp analytical thinking and thorough critical analysis on many important issues in the National Assembly and the Provincial People's Council. Through this, they contributed to promoting policy improvement and resolving difficulties for the locality, especially long-standing problems among the people.
Typically, based on the insightful reflection and analysis of National Assembly representative Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, and Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province - at the 5th Session of the 15th National Assembly, regarding the resolution of compensation and resettlement support policies for people affected by the Ban Ve hydropower project, which had been pending for decades; the Government and central ministries and agencies have adopted a policy and the investor has allocated 51 billion VND to address the issue.
In Son Lam commune – where many households were resettled from the Ban Ve Hydropower Plant area – six projects, including a memorial, a market, and a stadium, have been invested in and put into use; at the same time, construction is underway on Kim Lam Secondary School and the Tan Ngoc village cultural center.
According to Comrade Nguyen Xuan Ngan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Son Lam commune: "These projects have contributed to changing the face of rural areas in the border region, meeting the needs of trade, cultural activities, and sports for the people; at the same time, educating about traditions and paying tribute to the heroic martyrs. These positive changes in reality further strengthen the voters' confidence in the role and responsibility of elected representatives."
Following the proposal by National Assembly representative Thai Thi An Chung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation at the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly; the Central Government allocated 1,275 billion VND to pay for outstanding land clearance for the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1A through the province. By early February 2026, Nghe An had approved the payment of 890,787/1,275 billion VND.
Many issues in the National Assembly also saw the responsible participation of female delegates, such as preventing school violence, drowning among children, online fraud, abuse of women and children, human trafficking, child marriage, consanguineous marriage, illiteracy in ethnic minority areas… Especially in "thorny" areas such as: economy, budget, public investment, planning, land, and development policies for Western Nghe An...

It is noteworthy that these female representatives not only participated fully but also delved deeply into practical matters, grasped issues thoroughly, and thus participated in constructive criticism, questioning, and proposed solutions with a frank and well-founded spirit; making a significant contribution to improving the quality of the Provincial People's Council's decisions, making resolutions more deeply and humanely implemented in practice.

Besides their elected duties, the group of female delegates from Nghe An actively participates in social welfare programs. Through the "Godmother - Connecting Love" program, 30 orphaned children from disadvantaged backgrounds have received long-term support or direct assistance from these female delegates. Hundreds of Tet gifts for poor students each year, or timely support for people in flood-affected areas... all of this is not just about material things, but about empathy, responsibility, and compassion.
New expectations
Sharing insights into the group's practical activities, Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An Province, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and Chairwoman of the Nghe An Women Delegates Group – stated that the group has formed a special "networking space" where female delegates support each other, exchange experiences, and enhance their skills in elected office activities, focusing on key programs and issues. This connection not only strengthens the confidence and assertiveness of female delegates, making their voices increasingly prominent in the parliamentary arena, but also helps them participate deeply and responsibly in major national and local issues.
Through this process, each female delegate continuously grows in character and skills, while contributing a humane and comprehensive perspective to the policy-making process, so that parliamentary decisions become increasingly closer to the lives of the people.
In the official list of candidates for the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels this time, the proportion of women is higher than stipulated. Specifically, women candidates for the National Assembly account for 61.9%; women candidates for the Provincial People's Council account for 47.1%; and women candidates for the Commune People's Council account for 41.8%.
