Female director fabricates documents to embezzle assets.
Taking advantage of her position and authority, Nhi fabricated accounting records and documents for expenditures in order to embezzle state budget funds.
On September 6th, the People's Court of Quang Tri province opened a criminal trial to hear the case against defendant Nguyen Thi Phuong Nhi (44 years old, residing in Tan Le village, Hai Le commune, Quang Tri town).
According to the indictment, Nguyen Thi Phuong Nhi is the Chairwoman and Director of Hoa Nhi One-Member Limited Company (hereinafter referred to as Hoa Nhi Company), established in 2009 and located in Tan Le village, Hai Le commune. The company specializes in livestock farming, trading in animal feed and feed ingredients, and general trading.

In 2011, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province requested the Ministry of Science and Technology to consider and approve the project "Application of advanced technology to serve the development of industrial pig farming in Quang Tri province" and assign Hoa Nhi Company as the project owner.
In 2012, Hoa Nhi Company was assigned to implement the project "Building a model for applying advanced technology in industrial-scale pig farming in Quang Tri province" under the "Program to support the application and transfer of scientific and technological advancements to serve the socio-economic development of rural and mountainous areas in the period 2011-2015" of the Ministry of Science and Technology, with a total budget of 8 billion VND.
During the implementation of the Project, Nguyen Thi Phuong Nhi abused her position and authority by creating fraudulent accounting records and documents for expenses related to the purchase of breeding pigs, labor payments, and other project expenditures, thereby misappropriating 913,600,000 VND from the State budget.
The court sentenced defendant Nguyen Thi Phuong Nhi to 15 years in prison for "embezzlement of property" and ordered her to compensate the Rural and Mountainous Areas Program Office with 833,600,000 VND. The defendant has already paid 80 million VND to help mitigate the consequences.
