'Female ringleader' runs illegal lottery ring in rural Nghe An province
(Baonghean.vn) - Despite having a prior conviction for gambling in the form of lottery and betting, after being released from prison, Tran Thi Oanh (residing in Do Luong) recklessly plunged into the path of crime, establishing and operating a lottery and betting ring worth tens of millions of dong.
On March 6th, the Do Luong District Police announced that they had dismantled a gambling ring operating through lottery betting in the district. The ringleader was Tran Thi Oanh (residing in Nhan Son commune, Do Luong district - the lottery operator).

With huge profits from gambling, Oanh lured many people into this game of chance, causing a disruption of public order and security in the locality, including Nguyen Van Chien (residing in Bai Son commune, Do Luong district), a worker at a cement factory in the area.
After gathering sufficient evidence and documents regarding the criminal activities of the suspects in the case, the police force held a meeting, decided to crack the case, and proceeded to arrest Tran Thi Oanh and Nguyen Van Chien red-handed while they were recording lottery numbers at their private residence.

The police are currently holding two suspects in custody for further investigation.
