Using security camera footage from the supermarket, investigators identified a recently released convict who had stolen a customer's wallet containing tens of millions of dong.

On October 23, the police in Thuan An town (Binh Duong province) temporarily detained Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang (31 years old) for investigation into the crime of theft.

According to investigators, Trang had just finished serving a prison sentence for theft. Recently, due to financial difficulties, she had been targeting shoppers in supermarkets in Binh Duong province to steal from them.

Recently, while shopping at a supermarket in Thuan Giao ward, Thuan An town, Trang followed a well-dressed woman who had left her wallet on a shopping cart. After taking 33 million VND inside, the female thief threw the wallet and documents on the roadside.

Through the extraction of security camera footage from the supermarket, investigators identified Trang as the culprit and arrested her.
