11th grade female student won first prize in the Golden Bell contest on population and reproductive health

The contest is a meaningful activity to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20 and is part of a series of contests held at high schools according to the 2025 population work plan of the Department of Health.

On the afternoon of November 17, the Department of Health coordinated with Hoang Mai Medical Center and Hoang Mai 2 High School to organize the contest.Ring the Golden Belllearn about population and reproductive health of adolescents and young people.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Mr. Nguyen Van Nam - Deputy Director of the Department of Health emphasized that population work and reproductive health care for adolescents and young people is an important task. Thereby, it aims to lay a solid foundation for a young generation that is healthy, creative, knowledgeable and responsible for themselves, their families and the community.

From the above meaning, the “Golden Bell” contest is an intellectual and practical playground, a profound educational lesson. The main purpose is to help students consolidate their knowledge about population, gender, reproductive health and create a joyful, lively and creative learning atmosphere.

Besides, practice logical thinking ability, quick reflexes when handling situations; skills to participate in intellectual playgrounds, know how to confidently express yourself in front of a group; develop communication skills.

Through the contest, the Organizing Committee expects each student to become a "health ambassador", spreading correct understanding of population work and reproductive health care to friends, contributing to building a healthy, friendly and safe school environment.

Previously, the "Golden Bell" contest to learn about population and reproductive health for adolescents and young people has been maintained by the population sector for many years and attracted thousands of students from schools to participate.

In 2025, the competition was held at Hoang Mai 2 High School with the participation of 100 students, representing more than 1,500 students in the whole school.

During the competition, contestants will answer questions in many fields such as Population - Family Planning, adolescent/youth reproductive health, culture - society, history, geography... According to the rules, contestants who answer incorrectly will automatically leave the competition stage. The remaining contestants will continue to answer the next question. The person who answers the most questions will be the overall winner and the contestant with the excellent achievement award.

During the exam, the organizing committee also arranged a "rescue team" of 10 teachers to participate in physical games, helping eliminated students have a chance to return to the exam floor.

At the end of the competition, student Phan Thao Nhi - class 11A6 excellently won the first prize, rang the golden bell of the competition. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded second, third, secondary and collective prizes to excellent cheerleading teams.

In addition to Hoang Mai 2 High School, this year, the Department of Health will organize two other competitions at Do Luong 3 High School and Anh Son 1 High School.
