From fate to passion for Youth Union work

From the center of Quy Chau district, going up National Highway 48, we traveled more than 15 kilometers to Chau Binh commune. We met Truong Thi Trang, who was cleaning up village roads, alleys, and taking care of trees with the members of the Youth Union to respond to the national Green Sunday.

Small figure, pretty face, always cheerful, always enthusiastic in work, encouraging the spirit of union members and youth... are the impressions we felt from the female leader of the Union of Chau Binh commune. Trang led us to visit some good economic development models of union members and youth in the commune. She modestly shared that all the typical models and achievements in the Union movement of the commune all come from the efforts and enthusiasm of union members and youth and from the care and support from the Union at all levels... while her own efforts are very small.

Truong Thi Trang said that she came to the Union by fate. In 2012, after graduating from the Trade Union University, Trang returned to her hometown with the desire to contribute to the poor village where she was born. In 2014, she was elected to the position of Vice President of the Women's Union of Chau Binh commune. After 2 years of working, with youthful enthusiasm, Truong Thi Trang was elected to the position of Secretary of the Commune Union. This was also the milestone that marked the young girl's official relationship with and attachment to the Union. 6 years of working as the leader of the Commune Union gave her many memorable experiences and made her more and more mature. Trang always believes that, no matter what position she is in, she must try her best. Also from that positive thinking, for many years, the Chau Binh Commune Union has always been in the top group of union and youth movements in the district.

Chau Binh is the commune with the largest area and the largest population in Quy Chau district. There are still many poor villages and hamlets, with limited transportation and technical infrastructure systems; and a large gap in the intellectual level of the people. This reality has a significant impact on the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement, especially the gathering of young union members to participate in the Youth Union organization and local activities. Difficulties have not stopped the footsteps of the young and enthusiastic female Union leader Truong Thi Trang. She and her comrades in the Commune Youth Union Executive Committee have found many solutions to gather young people; guided the organization of activities at the Youth Union branches, especially the disadvantaged branches. The Commune Youth Union Executive Committee has focused on maintaining and improving the quality of activities at the Youth Union branches, regularly attending grassroots activities, promptly grasping the thoughts and aspirations of the Youth Union members; established the "Youth for Economic Development" Club to study, support and help each other, thereby arousing the will to escape poverty of the Youth Union members.

Besides her enthusiasm for Union activities, Trang is also passionate about charity. She always proactively stays close to the grassroots, learns and grasps people's lives to promptly advise the Party Committee and government as well as call on organizations, businesses and individuals to join hands to help those in difficult circumstances.

The page has actively coordinated with organizations, departments, branches, unions..., calling for 100 million VND to support the construction of a charity house for Mrs. Lu Thi Dong in Do 3 village. Mobilized 29 million VND to support Le Thi Tuyet, a child with bone cancer. Directly advised the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Chau Binh commune to call on agencies, businesses, and philanthropists to support 79.5 million VND...

Talking about the Secretary of the Commune Youth Union Truong Thi Trang, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hieu - Secretary of the Quy Chau District Youth Union said: "Comrade Trang is a person full of enthusiasm, the spirit of youth, and volunteerism. She is always energetic and creative in all activities, and performs excellently in every task."

With the results achieved, Ms. Truong Thi Trang was honored to receive many Certificates of Merit and Merit Certificates from all levels. She was awarded the title of Outstanding Young Party Member in 2019; The Provincial Youth Union commended her for her outstanding achievements in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic; The Military Command of Quy Chau district commended her for her outstanding achievements in the Emulation Movement to Win in 2020. Truong Thi Trang also won First Prize at the District-level Excellent Reporter and Propagandist Competition in 2021; won the Encouragement Prize at the Nghe An Province Excellent Reporter and Propagandist Competition in 2021, and won the title of District-level Emulation Fighter in 2021... Notably, the female leader of Chau Binh Commune Youth Union is one of 6 outstanding young party members of Nghe An province to be commended in 2022.
