British Prime Minister Theresa May is likely to announce her resignation date on May 24th.

Many major British newspapers reported on May 23rd that British Prime Minister Theresa May may announce the exact date of her departure from the leadership of the British government, following a meeting on the morning of May 24th with MP Graham Brady, chairman of the 1922 Committee, which brings together Conservative MPs who do not hold government positions.

Speaking to The Guardian, Brady also confirmed this information. Several sources close to the British government revealed that May's departure could be on June 10, 2019, after she finishes hosting US President Donald Trump's visit to the UK, which began on June 3.

Pressure to resign is immense for Theresa May after several members of the British government publicly opposed her Brexit strategy. On May 22, Andrea Leadsom, a key Conservative politician and Minister for Parliamentary Relations, resigned in protest against May.

British media also reported that on the evening of May 23rd, May met with two other key ministers, Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt and Home Secretary Sajid Javid, and both ministers did not support May's intention to leave open the possibility of holding a second referendum on Brexit.

Earlier, on the afternoon of May 23, British government representative Mark Spencer informed MPs that the government was temporarily postponing the vote on May's new Brexit bill in Parliament, which was originally scheduled for the first week of June. This postponement will last until at least June 4.
