He set fire to his wife's entire family home in the middle of the night due to jealousy.
At around 2 AM, Vo Phong Phu (40 years old) from Cau Ngang district, Tra Vinh province, locked the door and poured gasoline on his wife's family home, where eight people were sleeping inside.
Vo Phong Phu, residing in Hiep My Dong commune, Cau Ngang district, has been detained by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Tra Vinh Provincial Police for investigation into his alleged misconduct.Killing.
According to initial investigations, Phu and his wife, LTDK (39 years old), had separated due to conflicts. Ms. K. took their 8-year-old child to live with her parents in Thanh Hoa Son commune, Cau Ngang district.
Despite being separated, Phu and his wife still communicated regularly by phone. Recently, Phu suspected his wife was having an affair. He also recalled being verbally abused and chased away by his wife's father when he was living at her house. Phu believes this incident led to their separation.

On August 16th, Phu sent a text message but received no reply from Ms. K., leading him to suspect his wife was with another man.
Enraged, Phu bought 200,000 dong worth of gasoline and drove to his father-in-law's house around 2 AM on August 17th. There, he tied the door shut with a rope so that when he poured the gasoline and set it on fire, those inside wouldn't be able to escape.
When the fire broke out, the people inside the house shouted for help, and Phu immediately fled. Fortunately, the eight people inside managed to break down the door and escape to safety.
Upon receiving the report, the police launched an investigation to clarify the matter.
On August 19th, Phu turned himself in to the police and confessed to his crime.
