Landslide at Nguoc Mountain makes National Highway 46 unsafe for traffic.

(Baonghean.vn) - On September 23, Nguoc Mountain in Thanh Ngoc commune (Thanh Chuong district) experienced a landslide onto National Highway 46, posing a danger to people and vehicles using the road.

National Highway 46, the section passing through Nguoc Mountain, has a deep ravine on one side and a high mountain with steep cliffs on the other, posing many dangers. In recent days, heavy and prolonged rains in the area have caused severe landslides from Nguoc Mountain onto the road surface.

The debris from the landslide is blocking the road.

Traffic in this area is very dangerous.

Observations revealed three landslides, with large amounts of soil and rocks scattered across the road surface. The most severe landslide occurred at the foot of the mountain, on a section of road that had recently been upgraded, repaired, and widened. This is the bend in the road where excavation had recently been carried out to widen the road and improve visibility for pedestrians and vehicles.

In some locations along Nguoc Mountain, soil and rocks have filled the drainage ditches and fallen onto the road.

At the site of the severe landslide, more than a dozen tons of soil and rocks slid down from the mountain, completely blocking the drainage ditch and obstructing nearly half of the road on the mountain side, obscuring visibility and posing a traffic safety hazard. Heavy rain continues in the area, and the risk of further landslides on Nguoc Mountain remains.

People and vehicles traveling on National Highway 46 through Nguoc Mountain should be cautious to prevent accidents and landslides from the steep cliffs during heavy rains.
