Nguoc Mountain landslide, National Highway 46 loses traffic safety

(Baonghean.vn) - On September 23, Nguoc Mountain in Thanh Ngoc Commune (Thanh Chuong) had a landslide that led to National Highway 46, endangering people and vehicles.

National Highway 46 through Nguoc Mountain, one side is a deep abyss, the other side is a high mountain, steep cliffs, posing many potential dangers. In recent days, heavy rains have been pouring down the area, causing rocks and soil on Nguoc Mountain to slide down onto the road.

Landslide debris is blocking the road surface.

Traffic passing through this place is very dangerous.

Through observation, it was noted that there were 3 landslides, with many large rocks and soil lying on the road surface, of which the most severe landslide was at the foot of the mountain, part of the road that had just been upgraded, repaired, and expanded. This was the bend that had just been dug deep into the mountain to widen the road, freeing up more visibility for people and vehicles participating in traffic.

In some locations along Nguoc Mountain, rocks and soil have filled drainage ditches and fallen onto the road.

At the site of the major landslide, more than a dozen cubic meters of soil and rock slid down from the mountain, completely filling the drainage ditch, blocking nearly half of the road on the mountain side, obstructing visibility and causing traffic safety problems. Heavy rains are still continuing in the area and there is a risk of landslides on Nguoc Mountain.

People and vehicles traveling on National Highway 46 through Nguoc Mountain during heavy rains should be careful to avoid accidents, landslides, and rockfalls from steep cliffs.
