Thiet Bai Dam has a reservoir area of over 15 hectares, serving the irrigation of over 45 hectares of rice and various crops of local people and neighboring districts. Every year, during the rainy season, water often flows back over the dike, overflowing into residential areas, causing flooding of crops and houses of people in 6 downstream hamlets.

The impact of storm No. 4, downstream of the spillway more than 100m from the dam body, water caused erosion, concrete peeled off, exposing bare land. Below the dam edge, there are only a few places with solid concrete left, exposing bare land with a depth of tens of meters, so during the rainy season, people living around the dam are always worried that the water will rise at any time.
