(Baonghean.vn) - Raising egg-laying chickens using biosafety methods minimizes environmental pollution and reduces disease outbreaks. Therefore, the farm of Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh's family in Hamlet 7, Cam Son Commune (Anh Son District - Nghe An Province) earns a profit of over 500 million dong per year.

The chicken coop area is covered with a layer of sawdust or rice husks mixed with lime powder.

In 2010, Ms. Quynh and her husband boldly invested in developing a farm on an 8-hectare barren hill, focusing on forest planting, raising chickens, frogs, goats, and fish ponds. Particularly noteworthy is their high income from raising over 1,000 egg-laying chickens on a biological bedding system.

Applying a biological bedding system will decompose the organic matter in chicken waste, especially without causing unpleasant odors, contributing to reducing environmental pollution and limiting some common diseases in livestock such as diarrhea, asthma, and promoting faster weight gain in chickens.

Ms. Quynh's farm area is guaranteed to be hygienic and environmentally safe.

Currently, with 4 rows of chicken coops, Ms. Quynh's family raises over 1,000 egg-laying chickens. Thanks to being raised on a biological bedding system, the survival rate (from 1 day old) reaches 98.6%, the laying rate increases rapidly, and egg production is estimated at 260-265 eggs/hen/year; the eggs are clean, hygienic, and meet food safety standards and consumer demands.

On average, her family collects 300-400 eggs per day. To meet the local poultry farming demand, she invested in a chicken incubator to supply chicks to her family's farm and sell them to other households in the area at the market price of 9,000 VND per chick. After deducting expenses, her family earns over 500 million VND per year.

Each year, Ms. Quynh's family earns 500 million VND from raising chickens.

According to Ms. Quynh's experience, raising egg-laying chickens on biological bedding significantly reduces costs and yields 30% to 35% higher profits compared to traditional methods. This model is suitable for livestock development, utilizing agricultural by-products such as rice husks and sawdust in a clean and sustainable agricultural direction.
