Nvidia surprised customers by exchanging faulty RTX 5070 graphics cards for RTX 5070 Ti models.
A Reddit user recently shared a rare warranty experience where Nvidia upgraded their RTX 5070 to RTX 5070 Ti for free, doubling the value of the component.
A user named Lulnerdge recently attracted significant attention from the tech community when he shared a unique warranty story. Instead of receiving his repaired RTX 5070 graphics card, he was surprised to receive a brand-new RTX 5070 Ti from Nvidia.
Nvidia's surprising hardware upgrade
The story begins when Lulnerdge received a broken RTX 5070 from his brother, along with a suggestion to try his luck with the warranty service. After sending the device to Nvidia, instead of waiting for a complicated repair process, he was notified that it would be replaced with a higher-end product.

Notably, the RTX 5070 Ti has a market value of around $1,000, double the original price of the standard version. The total cost for Lulnerdge included only an hour of travel and $30 in shipping fees, making it an incredibly worthwhile hardware upgrade.
Community reaction and expert perspective
Lulnerdge's Reddit post quickly garnered over 3,000 interactions. Many members of the gaming community expressed admiration, even jokingly suggesting they buy broken components hoping for similar luck from the manufacturer.

However, technology experts consider this an extremely rare case. The cause could be a shortage of repair parts for the RTX 5070 series at the time, or an error in Nvidia's order processing procedure.

Although Nvidia has not issued a recall, users are advised not to consider this as a way to upgrade their hardware. Warranty policies from major manufacturers are usually very strictly controlled, and the availability of equivalent or higher-end replacement parts depends entirely on actual inventory levels.
