Flying cars with speeds of over 250 km/h will be launched in 2026
Flying cars with speeds of more than 250 km/h are expected to be commercially launched in 2026. This futuristic vehicle not only promises to revolutionize personal transportation but also has an impressive price tag, ranging from 800,000 to 1 million USD.
The dream of escaping traffic jams and flying cars has long been seen as a symbol of the future. Now, that future is getting closer.
A hybrid car-plane called AirCar – developed by Slovakian company Klein Vision – is preparing to enter the commercialization phase.

The AirCar first attracted attention in 2021 when its prototype version received an official Airworthiness Certificate from the Slovakian Transport Authority, after 70 hours of test flights according to European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) standards.
The vehicle made more than 200 takeoffs and landings, including a 35-minute inter-city flight from Nitra International Airport to Bratislava on June 28, 2021.
Klein Vision is now preparing to launch the AirCar 2, a production-ready prototype, later this summer.
The vehicle can flexibly switch between driving and flying modes thanks to its foldable wings and tail design. On the ground, it can reach speeds of 200 km/h, and in the air, more than 250 km/h, with a range of up to 1,000 km.
According to Mr. Anton Zajac - co-founder of Klein Vision, AirCar 2 can be launched on the market in 2026, with prices ranging from 800,000 to 1 million USD.
The announcement comes shortly after Stefan Klein, the project's founder and chief architect, was honored with the Living Legends of Aviation (USA) non-profit organization's Special Engineering Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the aviation industry.
“Receiving this recognition is a great honor and marks an important milestone in our long journey of research and development,” said Mr. Klein.
“The AirCar is the embodiment of a lifelong dream to give people the freedom to fly,” said Klein. “The unveiling of the production prototype is a major step toward a new era of mobility where the ground and sky are seamlessly connected.”
While it may not be for everyone yet, AirCar has proven that the concept of combining a driver's license and a pilot's license is no longer a fantasy but a slowly taking shape in the future, where personal vehicles can take off at any time.
