Suzuki is reviving the Ignis name for a new model with a design that blends crossover and MPV styles.
This model first appeared in 2015 at the Tokyo Motor Show as a concept, followed by a presentation at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi (India) and the 2016 Paris Motor Show in Europe. The 2017 Ignis has been launched in several markets including Japan, Europe, and India.

Recently in Indonesia, paparazzi spotted a truck carrying a batch of Suzuki Ignis cars on the streets. It's highly likely that this cute and affordable model will officially launch in Indonesia this month, with prices ranging from 139.5 to 169.5 million Rupiah, equivalent to approximately 238 to 289 million VND.

Indonesia is considered the first export market for the Ignis from the Maruti Suzuki joint venture in India, as the Suzuki Ignis models appearing in Indonesia are actually manufactured in India. According to leaked information, the Suzuki Ignis in Indonesia will be divided into three trim levels with corresponding prices: GL - 139.5 million Rupiah (238 million VND), GLX - 159.5 million Rupiah (272 million VND), and GLX AT - 169.5 million Rupiah (289 million VND).
Entering the Indonesian market, the Suzuki Ignis is equipped with only one engine option: a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder K-Series gasoline engine producing a maximum power of 83 horsepower and a maximum torque of 113 Nm. The GL and GLX versions will be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the GLX AT version will use a 5-speed automatic transmission. According to tests in India, this engine achieves an average fuel consumption of 20.89 km/liter, equivalent to 4.78 liters/100 km.

The top-of-the-line Suzuki Ignis in Indonesia will feature LED headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, fog lights with chrome trim, a steering wheel with integrated audio controls, automatic climate control, and an infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car also boasts a range of safety features including airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESP), and lane departure warning.
The Suzuki Ignis will become a new competitor to the Honda Brio, Toyota Etios, Nissan March (Micra), and Mitsubishi Mirage.
