President Obama said the world needs to come up with a long-term solution to deal with climate change. A climate change agreement would send a new message to researchers and investors that change is needed and that innovation in energy sources is needed.

President Obama stressed that rising sea levels and global warming could have major economic and security implications. However, the US President also said that he believed the world could solve the problem of global warming and that people should not despair.

“Climate change is a big, generational issue. The main message I want to say is we will solve this,” Obama said.

Previously, at the opening ceremony of the COP21 Conference, President Obama acknowledged that the US is the country with the second largest greenhouse gas emissions in the world after China and that the US has a great responsibility in solving the problem of climate change.
