Obama justifies sending special forces to Syria.
(Baonghean.vn) – For the first time, President Obama has spoken out to justify his decision to send dozens of special forces members to Syria to advise forces fighting ISIS – breaking his previous promise not to send ground troops to the Syrian battlefield.
In an interview with NBC broadcast on November 2nd, President Obama stated:
"It's important to note that we conducted special operations, and in fact, this was an extension. We didn't send U.S. troops to fight ISIS directly, as we did in Iraq with battalions and operations."

This is reportedly the first time President Obama has publicly spoken about the deployment of special forces in northern Syria since the White House announced the information. On October 30, the White House announced that at least 50 members of special forces would be deployed to Syria to “train, advise, and support” anti-ISIS forces in the country.
Analysts believe that the upcoming US military presence in Syria will mark a significant turning point in the US response to threats from jihadist organizations. Until now, the US has only conducted airstrikes in Iraq and Syria.
