Rice mill owner burned to death with gasoline
Suspect Tran Ngoc Tan threw a bottle of gasoline at the owner of a rice mill and set it on fire, causing the victim to die.
On the morning of May 27, the Criminal Police Department of Cho Gao District Police (Tien Giang) detained criminal suspect Tran Ngoc Tan (34 years old, residing in Phu Kiet Commune) to investigate the act of "Intentionally causing injury leading to death".

According to initial investigation, on the afternoon of May 25, after finishing drinking, suspect Tan went to the place where his biological mother worked for a local rice mill owned by Mr. Nguyen Tan Thanh (68 years old).
Here, Tan did not allow his mother to work at Mr. Thanh's factory. A conflict arose between mother and daughter, Mr. Thanh came to intervene and argued with Tan.
Tan took a 2-liter gasoline can and poured it on Mr. Thanh and lit it on fire. The rice mill owner was severely burned and was taken to the emergency room.
Mr. Thanh was then transferred to Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) for treatment with severe burns.
By the morning of May 27, Mr. Thanh died.
