Mr. Do Van Chien holds the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee.
Do Van Chien, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, has been appointed to the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the National Assembly.
This morning, the National Assembly Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel matters.
Specifically, the Politburo has decided to relieve Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the National Assembly, and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly - from his position as Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the National Assembly.
The Politburo decided that Mr. Do Van Chien, a member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, would cease to be a member of the Executive Committee and Standing Committee, and would relinquish his position as Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations.
At the same time, the Politburo assigned and appointed Mr. Do Van Chien to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Mr. Do Van Chien, born in 1962, is from Tuyen Quang province, is of the San Diu ethnic group, and holds a degree in agricultural engineering.
He was a member of the Politburo of the 13th Party Congress; a member of the Central Committee of the 10th (alternate), 11th, 12th, and 13th Party Congresses; and a Member of the National Assembly of the 13th and 14th terms.

Mr. Do Van Chien previously worked in Tuyen Quang province for many years.
In August 2011, he was transferred to the position of Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee (formerly).
In February 2015, he became Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs, and held the position of Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs from April 2016.
In January 2021, Mr. Do Van Chien was elected to the Party Secretariat by the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
In May 2024, the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam elected Mr. Do Van Chien as an additional member of the Politburo.
