Donald Trump promised to prevent World War III.
At a campaign rally, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump pledged to a crowd of supporters that he would prevent World War III.

According to TASS news agency on July 21, at a meeting with supporters in Grand Rapids on July 20 (Washington time), Michigan, following a failed assassination attempt, former US President Donald Trump declared that he would achieve a solution to the conflict in Ukraine even before taking office for a new term, if elected. Trump pledged to the crowd that he would prevent the outbreak of World War III.
“Before I step back into the Oval Office, right after we win the presidential election, I will be tackling this terrible war between Russia and Ukraine. I am the only one who can make this statement: I will stop World War III,” Donald Trump declared at a campaign rally in Grand Rapids.
Earlier, on July 19, Donald Trump had a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and described the conversation as "very good."
During the campaign rally in Grand Rapids, Republican candidate Donald Trump repeatedly mocked his opponent, incumbent President Joe Biden, calling him weak, and also ridiculed high-ranking Democratic Party members—particularly former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Trump relentlessly attacked the Democratic Party, saying that the party "doesn't know who their candidate is" and that they are now trying to win back votes for Biden.
The former president criticized the Democratic Party's argument that "Trump is a threat to democracy." According to Trump, on July 13, he narrowly escaped assassination, "taking a bullet for democracy."
