Duterte urgently returns to the Philippines from Russia as rebels take over city

President Rodrigo Duterte has decided to urgently return to the Philippines from Russia after receiving news that the militant group "Maut" has taken over the city of Marawi. As reported by the ABS-CBN News portal, the leader of the Republic has interrupted his official visit and is heading back to Manila.
While in Moscow, Mr. Duterte announced that martial law had been declared on the island of Mindanao, where Marawi city is located.
Currently in Marawi there are clashes between militants and the Philippine army. Currently under the control of terrorists are the "Amai Pakpak" medical center and checkpoints. Media reports that an explosion occurred in the city with 14 victims.
Rodrigo Duterte's meeting with President Vladimir Putin is scheduled for late afternoon on May 23.
