Mr. Le Van Khoa has resigned from his position as Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
After nearly two and a half years as Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in charge of urban planning and transportation, Mr. Le Van Khoa resigned due to health reasons.
On the afternoon of April 23, Mr. Le Van Khoa announced that he had submitted a resignation letter from his position as Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. "I have experienced health problems twice recently, making it impossible for me to continue in this position, so I am requesting to resign," Mr. Khoa stated.

Tomorrow (April 24th), the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, 9th term (2016-2021), is expected to hold an extraordinary meeting to vote on the dismissal of Mr. Le Van Khoa from his position as Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee. However, it is possible that this meeting will not elect a replacement for Mr. Khoa.
Mr. Le Van Khoa was born in 1961 in Quang Nam province; he holds a Bachelor's degree in Law, a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Theory.
At the 20th session of the 8th term of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council at the end of 2015, Mr. Khoa was elected Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee. He was assigned to oversee urban planning and transportation.
Mr. Khoa held this position for nearly two and a half years. Currently, his area of work has been taken over by the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Tran Vinh Tuyen.
Prior to assuming the position of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Mr. Khoa had previously held positions such as Chairman of the People's Committee of District 5; Deputy Director, and then Director of the City Department of Industry and Trade.
