Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc has been appointed Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee.
Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, has been transferred, assigned, and appointed by the Politburo to be the Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee.
Today, the Hanoi City Party Committee is holding a conference to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel matters.
The Politburo decided that Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee - would cease his participation in the Secretariat of the 13th Party Congress.
At the same time, Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc was assigned and appointed by the Politburo to participate in the Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City Party Committee, holding the position of Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Previously, City Party Secretary Bui Thi Minh Hoai was transferred, assigned, and appointed to the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations for the 2025-2030 term.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, born in 1964, is from Hung Yen province and holds a Master's degree in Law.
He had a long career in the police force, holding positions such as Deputy Director of the Hanoi City Police, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Police, and Director of the Department of Criminal Investigation of Corruption, Economic Crimes, and Smuggling.
He was appointed Deputy Minister of Public Security on August 15, 2019, and held this position for nearly five years. In December 2023, he was promoted to the rank of General.
In early June 2024, Mr. Ngoc was transferred and assigned by the Politburo to the position of Chief of the Central Party Office.
In mid-August 2024, the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam elected Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc as an additional member of the Party Secretariat.
Earlier this year, the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam elected him to the 13th Politburo and appointed him Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee.
