Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi is the Head of the Central Committee's Policy and Strategy Department.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, has been assigned by the Politburo to the position of Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee.
This morning (August 25th), in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel matters.
At the conference, Standing Committee member of the Party Central Committee Tran Cam Tu also announced that the Politburo had decided to assign and transfer Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, to the position of Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee.
This afternoon (August 25th), the announcement ceremony will be held at the Central Committee's Policy and Strategy Department.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi was born in 1976 in Ca Mau province. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering and has advanced political theory qualifications.
He was a member of the Central Committee of the Party for the 11th (alternate), 12th, and 13th terms; and a delegate to the 14th National Assembly.
Throughout his career, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi held many important positions such as Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, Deputy Minister of Construction, Deputy Secretary and then Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee (formerly), and Minister of Construction.
On January 25, 2025, he was assigned by the Politburo to the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
The Central Policy and Strategy Committee is an advisory and support agency of the Central Committee of the Party, directly and regularly assisting the Politburo and the Secretariat in leading and directing socio-economic development; guiding the construction and improvement of economic institutions; and formulating major and important socio-economic guidelines, policies, strategies, and measures.
With the above reassignment decision by the Politburo, the leadership of the Central Committee's Policy and Strategy Department now includes:
1. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Committee.
2. Mr. Thai Thanh Quy, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee.
3. Mr. Pham Dai Duong, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Committee.
4. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Committee
5. Ms. Nguyen Thuy Anh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Committee.
6. Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Committee.
7. Mr. Nguyen The Manh, Deputy Head of the Committee.
8. Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Deputy Head of the Committee.
