An impressive achievement has been repeated.

Former head coach Park Hang-seo sent his congratulations to his successor Kim Sang-sik and the Vietnam U22 team after their gold medal win at the 33rd SEA Games. This victory is particularly significant as it helps Coach Kim Sang-sik complete a "double" of AFF Cup and SEA Games titles in just one year, replicating the achievement that Park himself had previously accomplished.

In his message, Mr. Park acknowledged that the congratulations were somewhat "late" but expressed his great appreciation for the efforts of the coaching staff and players. The 67-year-old strategist stated that the gold medal is not only a sporting title, but also proof of the correctness of the long-term development strategy of the Vietnam Football Federation.

"This result shows that with the right direction and patience, Vietnamese football can absolutely achieve success using its own internal strength," Mr. Park commented.

A meaningful gift and message.

Besides words of encouragement regarding professional matters, Park Hang-seo also revealed a personal gift for coach Kim Sang-sik: a ring, an item he hopes will bring peace of mind and good luck to his colleague in his career leading the Vietnamese national teams.

Concluding his remarks, Park Hang-seo affirmed that even though he is no longer in his position, he remains proud of and will continue to support Vietnamese football as a loyal fan. "I am proud of you and will always support Vietnamese football," said Park.

With the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games, Vietnamese football has won the title for the third time in the last four editions of this tournament, following successes in 2019 and 2022.
