The Russian president unexpectedly signed a decree today dismissing a number of high-ranking officials and several generals.

Putin's decision to dismiss high-ranking officials, announced on Russia's official legal information portal, includes leading officials in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Federal Criminal Enforcement Agency, according to Sputnik.
Among those dismissed were eight generals. However, the document signed by Putin did not specify the reason for these sudden dismissals.
On May 2nd, the Kremlin leader also signed a decision to dismiss several high-ranking generals for unclear reasons. Prior to this, 10 high-ranking generals from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations were also dismissed.
