Head of the Central Economic Commission Tran Luu Quang was elected by the Party Central Committee to join the 13th Party Central Committee Secretariat.
On the afternoon of January 23, the Party Central Committee met to consider many important issues, including the election of additional members of the 13th Party Central Committee Secretariat.
Accordingly, the Party Central Committee elected Mr. Tran Luu Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Economic Commission, to hold the position of member of the 13th Party Central Committee Secretariat.

Mr. Tran Luu QuangBorn in 1967; hometown: Trang Bang ward, Trang Bang town, Tay Ninh; professional qualification: Master of Public Management, mechanical engineer.
He is a member of the Party Central Committee of the 11th (alternate), 12th, 13th terms; a National Assembly delegate of the 14th and 15th terms.
Mr. Tran Luu Quang has been attached to his hometown Tay Ninh for a long time, from a specialist of the Department of Planning and Investment and through the positions: Head of Foreign Economic Affairs Department, Department of Planning and Investment, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone, Tay Ninh; Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, Chairman, then Secretary of Trang Bang District Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee.
On July 31, 2015, the Politburo assigned him to hold the position of Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term. After that, he continued to serve as Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee and concurrently served as Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2015-2020 term.
On February 27, 2019, the Politburo appointed him to the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
In May 2021, he was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and will hold this position until early 2023.
On January 5, 2023, the National Assembly approved his appointment as Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term.
On August 21, 2024, he was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Head of the Central Economic Commission.
