Trump considers easing sanctions against Russia
Former US President Donald Trump said he was thinking about easing sanctions against Russia, if re-elected.

According to TASS news agency on July 17, former US President Donald Trump said he was thinking about easing sanctions against Russia when he returns to the White House.
“Yes. With sanctions, we’re just pushing people away. That’s why I don’t like sanctions,” Trump said in an interview with Bloomberg, answering a question about whether he was considering easing or lifting sanctions against Russia as a way to reach an agreement to end the conflict in Ukraine.
“Russian President Vladimir Putin and I get along very well. We have never been threatened with war,” Trump added, stressing that if he were in the White House, the conflict in Ukraine would never have started.
Earlier, a senior Republican official attending the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee told TASS on July 16 that Donald Trump is ready to talk with Russian President Putin about resolving the conflict in Ukraine without any mediators.
However, Mr. Donald Trump said that if re-elected, he intends to increase taxes on products from China from 60-100%, and 10% on imports from other countries.
Former President Trump’s first term was marked by a “trade war” he launched against China. His successor, current President Joe Biden, has in fact continued that: there are threats to increase tariffs on Chinese steel, aluminum and electric vehicle imports. The US currently has a 25% tariff on Chinese imports.
In January this year, the Washington Post, citing sources, said Trump had discussed with his advisers the possibility of imposing a 60% tariff on imports from China if re-elected.
