"It's a big change, in that Donald Trump will reverse the latest sanctions on Russia after he takes office. Trump will not be willing to accept that accusation, especially when it's not true," Senator Klintsevich told reporters.
Earlier, Washington announced new sanctions against Moscow related to accusations that Russia was behind a series of cyber attacks targeting US political entities.
A senior unnamed US official said on December 29 that the country had expelled 35 Russian diplomats and closed two Russian facilities in New York City and Maryland that were allegedly used for intelligence activities.
Mr. Trump then called on the US to "move on" and reconcile, and will meet with the head of the country's intelligence agency to find out the truth about the accusations of Russia interfering in the US election./.
