The GIF Trump shared on September 17th combined a shot of Trump swinging a golf club with a shot of Hillary Clinton tripping while boarding a plane in 2011. It was edited to make it look as if Clinton had been hit in the back by a golf ball before falling. It was a meme created for the President by a pro-Trump Twitter account.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment on the matter. A Clinton spokesman declined to comment, according to CNN.

Clinton has been in the media spotlight this month as she promotes her new book, "What Happened," about her failed 2016 campaign. She called Trump "a clear and present danger to the country and the world."

Trump criticized Clinton earlier this week for her new book, saying "she blames everyone but herself for her failure."
