"I hope not. I hope so," President Trump told reporters, commenting on the threat of the conflict in Ukraine turning nuclear.
At the same time, the US leader directly pointed out that he did not like Ukraine's recent attacks on Russia. However, Mr. Trump expressed hope that Russia would not stop negotiating on resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
"I think Russia will not stop the negotiations on the agreement," President Trump said about the process of resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
The US president added that, if necessary, he is still considering the possibility of imposing additional sanctions on Moscow.
President Donald Trump said he considered the Senate bill on new sanctions against Russia "very strong," but it was he who decided to impose new restrictions on Moscow.

President Trump also added that he is not asking the Senate to loosen the restrictions imposed by the legislative initiative.
Earlier, on June 6, the Wall Street Journal reported that the Trump administration was asking Republican Senator Lindsey Graham to reduce sanctions against Russia in the new bill.
