Trump sues his former lawyer, seeking $500 million in damages.
Former US President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, who testified as a witness in his criminal prosecution.
According to RIA Novosti, former President Trump's legal team filed a lawsuit in a Florida court on April 12, seeking $500 million in damages from Cohen, alleging that he violated the attorney-client relationship and confidentiality agreement.
In the lawsuit, Trump accused Cohen of "spreading false information" about him and causing the former US president "serious damage to his reputation."

"Mr. Cohen's continuous and escalating misconduct reached a breaking point and left the former president with no choice but to resort to legal action," the lawsuit states.
Meanwhile, Lanny Davis, Cohen's lawyer, argued that "former President Trump has once again abused the justice system to harass and intimidate Cohen."
Attorney Cohen is alleged to have directly transferred money to actress Stormy Daniels. Cohen testified that he transferred the money on Trump's orders to protect his image during the 2016 US presidential election campaign.

Donald Trump criticized the criminal charges that could lead to a 136-year prison sentence for him.
