Trump looks forward to meeting Putin on Ukraine
US President-elect Donald Trump said he would wait to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

According to RIA Novosti, speaking at the Turning Point USA Conference in Arizona on December 22 (US time), US President-elect Donald Trump said he was looking forward to meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
"President Putin said he wants to meet with me as soon as possible. So we'll wait for that, we have to finish this war," President-elect Trump said.
Earlier, the Russian leader, at an online question-and-answer session combined with a press conference on December 19, said that he was ready to talk and meet with the US President-elect. President Putin noted that if such a meeting took place, they would have something to talk about.
Mr. Trump called the conflict in Ukraine “horrible” and reiterated that if he were the US President instead of the current leader, Joe Biden, the conflict in Ukraine would not have happened.
Meanwhile, El Pais newspaper reported that US President-elect Donald Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to start thinking about peace talks.
“When you say ‘rebuild the country’… Rebuild what? This is a 110-year rebuild,” the publication quoted Mr. Trump as saying.
Last week, Mr. Trump sent a letter to the Ukrainian leader, in which he asked him to start thinking about peace talks and make concessions on Russian-controlled territories.
