Trump: Russia and the US are discussing major economic projects.
US President Donald Trump stated on the social media platform Truth Social that he is in talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin about ending the conflict in Ukraine and about major bilateral economic projects.
"I am in serious negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the war, as well as major economic development agreements that will be signed between the United States and Russia," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

At the same time, he reiterated the argument that the conflict in Ukraine “would never have happened” if he had been in the White House at the time it started. In related developments, President Trump expressed hope that the US and Ukraine would soon sign a natural resources agreement.
Trump argued that Ukraine's resources and infrastructure should be used to repay the aid the U.S. had provided. The U.S. also presented three versions of the agreement, which Ukrainian officials described as "bad," "less bad," and "disastrous."
Ukrainian President Zelensky rejected versions of the mineral agreement, arguing that it would take Ukraine 250 years to fully repay the debt.
