Trump said he would not set a deadline for a ceasefire in Ukraine.

According to RIA Novosti on March 22, US President Donald Trump said he did not discuss the duration of a ceasefire in Ukraine with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

At the White House, reporters asked President Trump whether he had tried to set a deadline in his conversation with President Putin regarding a ceasefire in the conflict in Ukraine.

"There is no deadline," President Trump replied to a media question without elaborating further.

Mr. Trump added that he still hopes the ceasefire will be implemented.

The US President also stated that during the conversation, President Putin did not reject the ceasefire proposal. Furthermore, according to the White House leader, on March 21st he had "several good discussions" about Russia and Ukraine.

"We are moving forward in Russia and Ukraine... perhaps we can stop this march of death as soon as possible," Trump said.

At the same time, Trump stated that there are more sanctions against Russia than against any other country.

According to Business Insider, President Donald Trump is undermining Kyiv's position in the process of ending the conflict.
