Trump was nearly assassinated while playing golf in Florida
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said on September 15 that Republican candidate Donald Trump continued to be an assassination target at the golf course at the Mar-a-Lago resort.
According to US media, the incident occurred at 2:00 p.m. on September 15 (Florida time) when a Secret Service agent tasked with protecting Mr. Trump discovered a gun barrel protruding from the fence of the Mar-a-Lago resort. Security forces “engaged with the subject, firing 4-6 bullets.”

“Mr. Trump was about 300-450m away from the shooter. The Secret Service agents jumped out and covered him,” the former US President’s golfing buddy, Steve Witkoff, told Fox News.
Mr Trump later posted on social media to assert that he was safe: “There were some gunshots heard near where I was standing. But before the rumors get out of hand, I want you to know, I am safe and well.”
CNN reported that security forces in Martin County, Florida, quickly arrested the suspect in the shooting "as the man tried to flee on the highway."

“The suspect was very calm when he was taken into custody, he did not show much emotion. He was unarmed when officers removed him from the vehicle,” said Martin County Sheriff William D. Snyder.
After receiving news that former President Trump was the target of a new assassination attempt, his opponent, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, said she was glad he was safe.
“I have seen reports of a shooting near former President Trump’s Florida resort, and I am glad he is safe. Violence has no place in America,” Harris said.
