Mr. Trump narrowly escaped assassination while playing golf in Florida.
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced on September 15 that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump continues to be a target of assassination attempts at the golf course in his Mar-a-Lago resort.
According to US media, the incident occurred at 2 PM on September 15th (Florida time) when a Secret Service agent tasked with protecting Mr. Trump spotted a gun barrel protruding from the fence of the Mar-a-Lago resort. Security forces "engaged in a firefight, with 4-6 shots fired."

"Trump was standing about 300-450 meters from the shooter. Secret Service agents jumped in and shielded him," Steve Witkoff, former U.S. President Trump's golf buddy, told Fox News.
Mr. Trump later posted on social media asserting that he was safe: “There were some gunshots near where I was standing. But before rumors get out of control, I want you to know that I am safe and healthy.”
CNN reported that security forces in Martin County, Florida, quickly apprehended the shooting suspect "as the man was attempting to flee in his vehicle on the highway."

“The suspect appeared very calm when apprehended; he showed little emotion. He was arrested unarmed when officers escorted him out of the vehicle,” said Martin County Sheriff William D. Snyder.
After receiving news that former President Trump was the target of a new assassination attempt, his opponent, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, said she was relieved that he was safe.
“I have received reports of the shooting near former President Trump’s resort in Florida, and I am relieved that he is safe. Violence has no place in America,” Harris said.
