According to RIA Novosti on July 5th, the British magazine Spectator suggests that the administration of US President Donald Trump, which supports the normalization of relations with Russia and is pressuring Kyiv with the threat of suspending arms supplies, is seeking a quick end to the Ukraine conflict.

"The Trump administration may have found the quickest way to end the war – and that was to facilitate a Russian victory," Spectator said.

According to the publication, the Kiev government failed to persuade President Trump to send more Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine, despite all the efforts of Volodymyr Zelensky.

"Some weapons arrived in Poland, but were returned," Spectator noted.

According to the publication, Zelensky accepted President Trump's request to sign an agreement to mine rare earth metals in Ukraine in exchange for arms aid. However, Kyiv still did not receive additional funding for arms purchases.

Meanwhile, Republican US House Representative Anna Paulina Luna criticized Zelensky on social media and urged him to sign a peace agreement amid the complete failure of the post-Soviet republic.

"I will not vote for continued funding for Ukraine. Zelensky canceled the election. Sources say that American weapons are being sold on the black market. He insulted our president and vice president," wrote MP Luna.

The MP also drew attention to the fact that continuing the confrontation with Russia would not bring anything good to Ukraine, but would only worsen its already dire situation.

"Peace is the only option. This cannot be achieved by providing them with more weapons," the female congresswoman suggested.
