Street artist Mindaugas Bonanu painted an image of Russian President Vladimir Putin and US billionaire Donald Trump kissing passionately like a couple of lovers. The mural, completed on May 13, is causing a stir on social media because of its humor.
On May 14, Mr. Dominykas Ceckauskas, the restaurant owner, explained to AFP that he had the mural painted because he saw that the two characters had extremely similar personalities, which were overconfidence, so they would be very compatible.
Beneath the painting, artist Bonanu wrote a parody of Mr. Trump’s campaign slogan: “Make it big again.”
Restaurant owner Ceckauskas further explained that this mural was based on the idea of the image (painted in 1979) of the intimate Slavic-style kiss between Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev and East German leader Erich Honecker - an image that remains on a part of the Berlin Wall that is kept as a relic.
