The OPPO Reno16 Series officially launched on May 25th with a 7,000mAh battery and a 200MP camera.
OPPO has confirmed the launch of the Reno16 series in China at the end of May, promising breakthroughs with its massive battery capacity and advanced periscope camera system.
OPPO has officially confirmed that it will hold a launch event for the Reno16 series on May 25th. The event is scheduled to take place in China at 6 PM local time (5 PM Vietnam time). The new Reno generation is expected to bring a leap forward in specifications, especially battery capacity and photography capabilities, aiming to bridge the gap between mid-range smartphones and true flagship devices.

Flat screen design and 1.5K display experience.
According to leaked information, OPPO will adopt a flat-screen design language for the entire Reno16 series, catering to the current trend of prioritizing usability and durability. Using a flat screen helps reduce accidental touches at the edges and provides better support for applying screen protectors.
In terms of display capabilities, the standard Reno16 version is expected to feature a 6.32-inch OLED screen. Meanwhile, the Reno16 Pro variant will have a larger 6.78-inch screen, using an OLED panel that supports LTPO technology to optimize adaptive refresh rates, thereby saving power more efficiently. Both will have a sharp 1.5K resolution.

Record-breaking hardware configuration and battery capacity.
The most notable highlight of this year's Reno generation lies in its power system. OPPO is expected to equip the standard version with a battery capacity of up to 6,700mAh, and the Pro version with 7,000mAh. This is a significantly higher capacity than the average for thin and light smartphones currently on the market.
| Specifications | OPPO Reno16 | OPPO Reno16 Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Microprocessors | Dimension 8550 | Dimensity 9500s |
| Screen | 6.32-inch 1.5K OLED | 6.78-inch OLED 1.5K LTPO |

Besides the large battery, the internal configuration is also very powerful with the Dimensity 9500s processor in the Pro version, ensuring smooth performance for demanding tasks and high-graphics gaming.
A significant upgrade to the 200MP camera system.
The OPPO Reno16 Series continues to assert its position in the photography-focused smartphone segment with impressive hardware upgrades. The rear camera system is expected to include a Samsung HP5 main sensor with a resolution of up to 200MP. This will be accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and, notably, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, significantly improving optical zoom capabilities and telephoto portrait photography.

Besides the two main smartphone models, the source also mentioned a new tech accessory called Oppo Bubble. This device is said to integrate a smart electronic display, allowing users to customize personalized wallpapers and act as a remote control for taking photos, adding more creativity to OPPO's ecosystem.
Following its domestic launch on May 25th, the OPPO Reno16 series is likely to be introduced internationally around June or July. This is considered one of the most comprehensive upgrades to the Reno series in recent years.
